Amy Leniart is an award-winning producer, writer and editor. With over 17 years of production experience, Amy is able to lead projects from early development through production and post-production to a successful distribution. Amy is a visual storyteller and science communicator with an enthusiastic approach to shaping a story through engaging media.

During her career, Amy has created long-form television programming, social videos, news segments, in-depth magazine stories and large-scale events. Amy tailors the communication strategies for each project to meet the needs of the client and to expertly reach the target audience.

Her clients include NASA, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, National Institute of Standards and Technology, The Fairfax Network, and Fairfax County Public Schools

Amy is knowledgeable in all aspects of video production. From field shoots to studio set-ups to remote production truck on a large-scale event, Amy is able to guide and execute quality production. Media production and storytelling are her passions. Amy Leniart skillfully creates new ideas to shape a script, share a public affairs message or solve a technical issue.

She is currently the Senior Special Projects Producer with NASA and has established herself as a leader in quality science video communications. In this role, Amy regularly creates broadcast and social videos to educate the public about NASA’s mission. Amy served as the Script Supervisor for the 2017 Total Solar Eclipse Broadcast which reached over 40 million digital viewers and an estimated 600 million broadcast audience.

Over the years, Amy has interviewed hundreds of people, from kindergarten students to politicians. She has also interviewed many notable scientists such as the Director of Heliophysics at NASA, astronauts such as John Glenn, the Director of Solar Energy Technologies at the Department of Energy, the Space Shuttle Discovery Flow Director and Smithsonian curators. From each expert and within each project, Amy brings the science stories to light to educate the public.
